Dommeldange Castle
Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Dommeldange Castle is a historic château located in Dommeldange, the northernmost district of Luxembourg City.
Built in the 17th century as a private residence for Thomas Marchant, a prominent ironworks operator, the castle reflects the area’s long connection to Luxembourg’s iron and steel industry. The castle later became home to other industrial families, including Charles Collart in the 19th century.
Its elegant architecture and scenic setting made it one of the notable residences associated with the industrial development of the region. In 1973, the Luxembourg state acquired the property, and it now serves as the residence and embassy headquarters of the People's Republic of China in Luxembourg.
