Eltz Manor
Croatia, Croatia
Eltz Manor, also known as Eltz Palace, is a magnificent Baroque manor located in Vukovar, eastern Croatia, on the banks of the Danube River.
Built between 1749 and 1751 by the noble Eltz family, it became the center of their large estate and is regarded as one of Croatia’s finest Baroque residences. The manor played an important role in the history of Vukovar and remained the family’s main residence for generations. It suffered severe damage during the Croatian War of Independence in 1991 but was carefully restored and returned to its historic appearance in 2011.
Today, Eltz Manor houses the Vukovar City Museum, where visitors can explore exhibits on local history, art, archaeology, and culture. Its elegant architecture, historical significance, and scenic setting make it one of the most important cultural landmarks in Croatia.
