Fischbach Castle near the town of Fischbach in central Luxembourg is one of the country's oldest castles, with a history stretching back to at least 1050 when the estate was first owned by the Abbey of Echternach, Luxembourg’s wealthiest institution for centuries.

The castle has undergone many renovations and was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War in 1635. In the 19th century, industrialist Auguste Garnier owned it and turned it into an industrial center, which was reversed after Grand Duke William II bought it in 1847 to consolidate political control and restore its noble status. Later, Duke Adolphe of Nassau, Luxembourg’s future Grand Duke, became its owner in the late 19th century. During World War II, the castle served as a rest home for German artists but retained much of its historic character without Nazi renovations.
