Giuncarico is a charming medieval hilltop village in the municipality of Gavorrano, in Tuscany’s Maremma region.

Dating back to the Early Middle Ages, it was successively controlled by powerful noble families such as the Aldobrandeschi and Pannocchieschi before becoming part of the Republic of Siena and later the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The village has preserved much of its historic character, with stone houses, narrow streets, ancient walls, and the Porta del Castello, the main gateway to the old fortified center.

Notable landmarks include the Church of Sant’Egidio and several historic palaces that reflect its long history.
