Hazrat Sultan Mosque
Astana (Nur-Sultan), Kazakhstan
The Hazrat Sultan Mosque in Astana is one of the largest and most impressive mosques in Kazakhstan.
Opened in 2012, it was named after the revered Sufi scholar Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, who is often honored with the title “Hazrat Sultan” or “Holy Sultan.” Built in a classical Islamic style with traditional Kazakh decorative elements, the mosque features a massive central dome, four tall minarets, intricate ornaments, and spacious prayer halls. Covering more than 11 hectares, it can accommodate up to 10,000 worshippers during major religious celebrations.
