Kasteel Van Elverdinge near Ypres, Belgium, has a long history dating back to the 12th century when the original castle was built and belonged to bastards of the Counts of Flanders.

Over time, it evolved through various architectural styles, with a notable Renaissance-style castle built in the 17th century and a French Renaissance mansion constructed in the 19th century under Markies Victor d’Ennetières d'Hust, who also developed the surrounding lands.

The castle was destroyed by fire during World War I but was rebuilt in 1925 by architect Jules Coomans using the remaining walls, preserving much of the original structure's character. Today, the castle stands as a fine example of Flemish and French Renaissance architecture, surrounded by extensive grounds including a nature reserve for birds, reflecting its role as both a historic residence and a preserved natural site.

It was privately owned by descendants of the de Laubespin family until 2021 when it was acquired by a local agro-industrialist.​
