Kula Cambi, also known as Cambi Castle, is a historic fortified tower in Kaštel Kambelovac on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast.
It was built in the early 16th century by the noble Cambi family from Split to protect local residents from pirate raids and Ottoman attacks. Originally constructed on a small islet connected to the mainland by a bridge, the castle was designed with a distinctive cylindrical tower, making it unique among the fortifications of the Kaštela region and particularly effective for defense.
Over time, the surrounding land was filled in, linking the fortress directly to the shore. Today, Kula Cambi is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Kaštel Kambelovac and an important example of Renaissance military architecture in Croatia. Its historic character and coastal setting make it a notable attraction and symbol of the town’s rich heritage.
