Kula Cipiko
Kaštel Novi, Croatia, Croatia
Kula Cipiko, also known as Cippico Castle, is a historic fortified tower in Kaštel Novi on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast.
Built in 1512 by the noble Pavao Antun Cippico, it was designed to protect local residents and agricultural workers from Ottoman raids and other threats along the coast. Originally, the tower stood on a rocky islet just offshore and was connected to the mainland by a bridge. Its strong stone walls, defensive features, and strategic seaside location made it an effective fortress while also serving as a residence for the Cippico family.
Today, Kula Cipiko remains one of the most important historical landmarks in Kaštel Novi. It reflects the region’s rich coastal heritage and forms part of the chain of fortified settlements that gave rise to the modern town of Kaštela.
