Larochette Castle is a medieval fortress that stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the town of Larochette in central Luxembourg.

Its origins date back to the 11th and 12th centuries, when it served as the seat of the Lords of Larochette, an influential noble family connected to the Counts of Luxembourg. The castle complex was unusual because several noble families lived within its walls, leading to the construction of multiple manor houses, including the Houses of Homburg and Créhange.

A major fire at the end of the 16th century left much of the castle in ruins, and it was never fully rebuilt. Today, Larochette Castle is one of Luxembourg’s most impressive castle ruins. Owned by the state and partly restored, it offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding valley and provides a fascinating glimpse into the country’s medieval history.
