The castle has undergone a series of extensions over time. Positioned in the Maaltebruggepark at the edge of Ghent, it is surrounded by English landscape gardens, offering an elegant and picturesque setting. The castle came into the possession of Hubert Lousbergs, a textile manufacturer, in the early 19th century, who gifted it to his daughter Henriëtte.
It blends historical architecture with beautiful natural surroundings, making it a significant cultural landmark in Ghent.
