Moneglia is a beautiful, quiet, and laid-back seaside town in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy, located in the Metropolitan City of Genoa about 50 kilometers southeast of Genoa on the Riviera di Levante.

This charming village, home to approximately 2,800 residents, is nestled between the deep blue sea and lush green mountains in a protected bay enclosed by two headlands—Punta Moneglia and Punta Rospo—creating a heavenly setting recognized as one of Italy's most beautiful villages in the "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" list.

The town features a lovely 1-kilometer sandy beach with crystal-clear water protected by rocks, a palm tree-lined promenade, a marina for boat rentals, and a well-preserved historic center with colorful houses, ancient medieval alleys called "carrugio," and picturesque slate portals.

Moneglia's main attractions include the 12th-century Castle of Monleone built to defend against pirate raids, the Church of San Giorgio from 1396 with its Franciscan monastery cloister added in 1484, and the Church of Santa Croce established in 1130 and rebuilt in 1725, which houses paintings by local artist Luca Cambiaso.
