Portici is a coastal town in Campania, Italy, located southeast of Naples along the Bay of Naples, near the archaeological site of Herculaneum.

It is famously home to the Royal Palace of Portici, an 18th-century Bourbon residence built by Charles of Bourbon, which now houses a museum complex including royal apartments, archaeological finds from nearby Pompeii and Herculaneum, and beautiful botanical gardens operated by the University of Naples.

The town was historically a center of aristocratic life with many elegant villas along its "Golden Mile." Portici is notable for being the arrival point of Italy’s first railway, the Naples-Portici line inaugurated in 1839.

The town has a small but busy port, combines industrial activity like wine and silk production with fishing and agriculture, and is located near the active Mt. Vesuvius volcano. Portici balances historical grandeur with modern urban life, offering cultural sites, seaside promenades, and proximity to major historical landmarks.
