Prilepac
Serbia, Serbia
Prilepac, also known as Prilepnica, was a medieval Serbian fortress located near Kamenica (Kosovska Kamenica) in eastern Kosovo under Serbian historical context, perched on the Odžin Kamen hill at 861 meters overlooking the Prilepnica valley. Built likely in the 14th century or earlier to defend approaches to the fortified mining town of Novo Brdo, it originally belonged to logotet Pribac under Tsar Dušan before passing to his son Stefan Uroš and later Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović, who was born there around 1329 and granted it to Ravanica Monastery. First mentioned in sources in 1381, the plateau-shaped stronghold exploited natural cliffs on three sides for defense with gentler eastern access, now surviving as ruins including remnants of walls and a church amid a site yielding artifacts like swords.
