Al Sharqiyah South (Ras Al Hadd), Oman

---

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, located near Ras Al Hadd in Oman’s Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, is one of the world’s most important nesting sites for endangered green sea turtles.

The protected reserve is famous for allowing visitors to observe turtles coming ashore to lay eggs and, during certain seasons, watch hatchlings make their way to the sea. The reserve combines conservation, research, and eco-tourism, helping protect several species of sea turtles while educating visitors about marine life and environmental preservation.

Guided tours are carefully managed to minimize disturbance to the turtles and their nesting habitat. Surrounded by rugged coastline and pristine beaches, Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve offers one of Oman’s most unique wildlife experiences and is widely regarded as a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those interested in conservation.
