Rocca Conti Guidi, also known as the Rocca di Dovadola, is a medieval fortress that overlooks the town of Dovadola in the hills of Emilia-Romagna.

Dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries and likely built on earlier Lombard defensive sites, it occupied a strategic position controlling the route between Romagna and Tuscany. The fortress became one of the most important strongholds of the powerful Guidi family. Built on a rocky spur above the Montone Valley, it features a massive keep, defensive walls, round towers, and a layout designed to protect the valley and monitor movement through the Apennines.

Despite centuries of wear and damage, the Rocca remains one of the best-preserved castles associated with the Guidi family. Today it is an important historical landmark and a symbol of Dovadola’s medieval heritage, although parts of the site have undergone restoration and may not always be accessible to visitors.
