Rocca di Sala Baganza, also known as Rocca Sanvitale, is a historic fortress and noble residence located in the town of Sala Baganza, near Parma in Emilia-Romagna.

Built in the late 15th century by the Sanvitale family, it later became a residence for the Farnese and Bourbon dynasties and served as an important center of court life, culture, and hunting activities. Although originally part of Parma’s defensive network, the building was designed more as an elegant residence than a military fortress.

Today, visitors can admire beautifully decorated rooms featuring Renaissance frescoes by renowned artists such as Ercole Procaccini, Orazio Samacchini, and Cesare Baglione, along with historic chapels and noble apartments. Surrounded by a historic walled garden, the Rocca also houses the Museum of Wine, reflecting the area's long winemaking tradition. It remains one of the most important cultural landmarks in the Parma region, offering a blend of history, art, and local heritage.
