Rocca Estense is a medieval fortress in the town of San Felice sul Panaro, Emilia-Romagna, and one of the most important symbols of the area.

Built in the 14th century under the Este family and later strengthened by the renowned military architect Bartolino da Novara, it served as a key defensive stronghold protecting the territories between Modena and Ferrara. The fortress features a quadrangular layout with a central courtyard, imposing towers, battlements, and a tall keep, reflecting its military purpose.

Over the centuries, it also served as a residence, a prison, and a civic landmark, becoming deeply connected to the history of the town. Although severely damaged by the 2012 Emilia earthquakes, the Rocca has undergone extensive restoration and remains an important example of Este architecture and heritage. It continues to be admired as one of the most recognizable historic monuments in the Modena province.
