Rocca Manfrediana e Veneziana is a striking medieval fortress that stands on one of the three rocky hills overlooking the historic town of Brisighella in Emilia-Romagna.

Originally built around 1310 by Francesco Manfredi, lord of Faenza, it was expanded and strengthened over the following centuries by the Manfredi family and later by the Republic of Venice, which added the imposing Venetian tower and reinforced its defenses. The fortress played an important strategic role in controlling the surrounding valley and witnessed periods of rule by figures such as Cesare Borgia, the Venetians, and the Papal States.

Today, the restored castle is one of Brisighella’s most iconic landmarks, offering panoramic views, historic architecture, and museum exhibits that explore the area's history and relationship with the region’s distinctive gypsum landscape.
