Stone Bridge (Kamen Most)
Skopje, North Macedonia
The Stone Bridge (Kamen Most) is the most iconic landmark in Skopje, spanning the Vardar River and connecting Macedonia Square with the historic Old Bazaar.
Built mainly during the 15th century under Sultan Mehmed II on older foundations, the bridge is made of massive stone blocks and features 12 graceful arches stretching about 214 meters across the river. For centuries, it has served as a vital link between different parts of the city and has survived earthquakes, wars, and major historical changes.
Today, it is a symbol of Skopje and one of the best places to experience the city’s blend of modern and historic cultures while enjoying views of the river and surrounding landmarks.
