Torre del Barbarossa is a medieval tower in the historic center of Seregno, Lombardy, and is widely regarded as one of the town’s main symbols.

Dating from the 12th or 13th century, it was originally built as a bell tower and is traditionally associated with Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, who is said to have used it as a lookout point along the important route between Milan and Como. Over the centuries, the tower served both religious and civic functions.

It was connected to the old Church of San Vittore and later became a civic tower. Its distinctive Romanesque-Gothic design features brick walls, stone corner supports, arched openings, and a prominent bell chamber. Carefully restored in the 1990s, the tower remains an important landmark that reflects Seregno’s medieval heritage. Today, it stands as a recognizable monument in the town center and a reminder of the region’s long history.
