Torre del Bargiglio is a historic watchtower located on Monte Bargiglio near Borgo a Mozzano in Tuscany.

Often called the “Eye of Lucca,” it occupied a commanding position that provided panoramic views across the Serchio Valley, Garfagnana, and the Plain of Lucca, making it an ideal observation and communication point. During the Middle Ages, the tower formed part of a defensive network that used fire, smoke, mirrors, and other signals to relay messages between Lucca and surrounding castles and fortifications.

After the destruction of earlier fortifications, the tower became a key communication hub during regional conflicts and remained important until the early 17th century. Over time, the tower fell into decline and eventually became a ruin, but recent restoration efforts have helped preserve the site.
