Chad is a landlocked country in north-central Africa, bordered by Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. The capital city is N’Djamena, and the country has a population estimated at over 19 million. Chad’s landscape includes the Sahara Desert in the north, arid Sahelian regions in the center, and more fertile savanna in the south.

With more than 200 ethnic and linguistic groups, Arabic and French are the official languages, and Islam and Christianity are the major religions. The economy mostly relies on agriculture, livestock, and oil production, though it faces significant challenges such as poverty, limited infrastructure, and political instability, including a history of coups since independence from France in 1960.
