Burg Deutschlandsberg is a medieval castle situated on a rocky hill overlooking the town of Deutschlandsberg in the Austrian state of Styria.

It dates back to the 12th century when it was established by the Archbishopric of Salzburg to secure the region and trade routes. Throughout the Middle Ages, the castle was expanded and fortified, serving both as a residence and an administrative center for the archbishop’s domain.

In the 16th century, it was further reinforced due to threats from the Ottoman Empire, although its military importance declined over time. By the 17th century, the castle transitioned into more of a residential and symbolic role. Though parts of it fell into disrepair, restoration efforts in the 20th century preserved much of the structure.

Today, Burg Deutschlandsberg houses the Archaeological Museum of Western Styria and continues to be a prominent historical landmark offering panoramic views of the surrounding Laßnitz ValleyBurg Deutschlandsberg.
