Burgruine Haimburg, also called the Heunburg, is a ruined rock castle on a secluded limestone outcrop in the village of Haimburg within the municipality of Völkermarkt in Carinthia, Austria.
The site is mentioned under the name “Heunburg” in 1240 and originally belonged to the Bishops of Bamberg, but in 1307 it came into the possession of the Carinthian ministers Franz and Ulrich von Graben, who also owned the nearby castle of Wegscheide. The Graben family expanded the castle in the 14th and 15th centuries, and in 1480 they sold it to the Lichtenstein family; however, by the 16th century the castle was already in ruins, and today only the protective walls and some remnants of the main building survive on the high rock.
