Positioned strategically on a rocky promontory overlooking Lake Wörthersee, the castle served as a defensive fortress controlling the surrounding area.
Though now in ruins, it remains a peaceful and atmospheric site nestled in a forest, offering visitors hiking trails and scenic views including the nearby Hohe Gloriette observation tower.
