Fortress „Kopsis“
Bulgaria, Bulgaria
Fortress “Kopsis,” also known as Anevo Fortress, is a medieval stronghold in central Bulgaria near the village of Anevo and the town of Sopot. It was built in the 12th century and became especially important in the late 13th century, when it served as the seat of a short-lived semi-independent ruler. Today, its well-preserved ruins sit on a steep hill with wide views of the area, making it one of Bulgaria’s most impressive medieval fortress sites.
