The Jardín Botánico Reinaldo Espinosa is a 7‑hectare botanical garden in Loja, Ecuador, located at the eastern edge of the Universidad Nacional de Loja campus, about 5 kilometers from the city center along the road toward Vilcabamba.
Founded in 1949 by the botanist Reinaldo Espinosa, it is the oldest botanical garden in Ecuador and lies in a transitional zone between humid Amazonian and drier Pacific bioclimatic currents, which helps create a unique and rich local flora.
The garden holds around 1,385 plant species, both native and exotic, and functions as a center for conservation, research, and environmental education, with labeled plants, walking paths, and regular visits from schools and researchers, open to the public on weekdays and weekends at set hours.
