Nizwa Central Souq, located in the heart of Nizwa beside the famous Nizwa Fort, is one of Oman’s oldest and most important traditional markets.

It remains a lively center of trade where locals and visitors can experience authentic Omani culture, daily life, and long-standing commercial traditions. The souq is known for its wide variety of goods, including silver jewelry, traditional Omani daggers (khanjars), pottery, handicrafts, spices, frankincense, dates, and textiles.

It is especially famous for its Friday livestock market, where traders from surrounding villages gather to buy and sell animals in a tradition that has continued for generations. With its traditional architecture, friendly atmosphere, and rich selection of local products, Nizwa Central Souq offers one of the best opportunities to experience Oman’s heritage and craftsmanship while exploring one of the country’s most historic cities.
