The Beira Cathedral, officially known as the Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, is one of the most important religious and historic landmarks in Beira, Sofala Province, Mozambique.

It serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Beira and has been a center of Catholic worship in the city for decades. Built in the Gothic Revival style, the cathedral was inaugurated in 1925 and became a cathedral when the diocese was established in 1940. Its striking white façade, clock tower, and elegant architectural design make it one of Beira’s most recognizable colonial-era buildings.

The cathedral has witnessed much of the city’s history and survived significant challenges, including severe damage from Cyclone Idai in 2019. Today, it remains an important place of worship, cultural heritage, and community life, symbolizing both the faith and resilience of the people of Beira.
