Verified Zinave National Park

Inhambane Province, Mozambique

Zinave National Park, located in Inhambane Province in southern Mozambique, is a vast protected area covering about 4,000 square kilometers of savannas, woodlands, wetlands, and riverine habitats along the Save River.

Established as a national park in 1973, it forms an important part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area. After suffering severe wildlife losses during years of conflict and poaching, the park has undergone one of Africa’s most notable wildlife restoration programs. Thousands of animals, including elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, rhinos, and predators, have been reintroduced, helping restore the ecosystem and making Zinave Mozambique’s first national park to host the Big Five.

Today, Zinave National Park is known for its remote wilderness, rich birdlife, baobab-studded landscapes, and growing wildlife populations. Its successful conservation efforts and authentic safari experiences make it one of Mozambique’s most exciting emerging ecotourism destinations.
