First recorded in 1350, the estate has been owned by several influential noble families over the centuries and has played an important role in Danish history. The castle is especially known for its connection to Kirsten Munk, the wife of Christian IV, who lived there under house arrest after her relationship with the king ended. Over time, the estate was extensively remodeled to reflect changing styles and needs. Today, Boller Slot is a privately owned property that has been converted into residences and business facilities.
