Engelsholm Castle is a Renaissance castle located near Engelsholm Lake in Jutland, Denmark.
The present castle was built in 1592-1593 by Brahe, the brother of the famous astronomer Brahe, on the site of an older manor estate dating back to the 15th century. The castle is known for its elegant white façade, symmetrical Renaissance design, and distinctive onion-domed corner towers, which were added during major Baroque renovations in the 18th century.
Surrounded by a lake, forests, and landscaped gardens, it is considered one of Denmark’s most picturesque historic estates. Since 1939, Engelsholm Castle has served as a folk high school specializing in arts and music. Visitors can enjoy the surrounding park and grounds, which remain popular for their natural beauty and historical significance.
