Holckenhavn Castle is a Renaissance manor castle located just south of Nyborg on the island of Funen, Denmark.

Its origins date back to the late 16th century, and the present castle was developed over several decades by successive noble owners. Originally known as Ulfeldtsholm and later Ellensborg, it received its current name in 1672 when it was acquired by Eiler Holck. The castle is closely associated with notable figures in Danish history, including Ellen Marsvin, one of Denmark’s most influential landowners, and her granddaughter Leonora Christina.

Its four-winged Renaissance design, chapel, knights’ hall, and waterside setting make it one of Denmark’s most impressive historic manor houses. Today, Holckenhavn Castle remains in the ownership of the Holck family and is used for conferences, weddings, cultural events, and private functions. Visitors are particularly drawn to its historic architecture, scenic parkland, and rich connection to Denmark’s noble heritage.
