Kongstedlund
Denmark, Denmark
Kongstedlund is a historic Renaissance manor house located in the Himmerland region of northern Denmark, near Aalborg.
Built in 1592 for the nobleman Niels Juel, the estate stands on the site of an older fortified residence and is surrounded by former moats, reflecting its long and distinguished history. The manor is known for its elegant architecture, including a distinctive Baroque sandstone portal added in 1640 by Ivar Krabbe and Dorte Juul.
Over the centuries, it passed through several prominent Danish families and has remained an important example of Denmark’s manor-house heritage. Kongstedlund also has royal connections, as Princess Dagmar of Denmark lived there from 1922 to 1961.
