Liselund
Denmark, Denmark
Liselund is a romantic landscaped park and manor located on the island of Møn near the famous Møns Klint cliffs in Denmark.
Created in the 1790s by Antoine de Bosc de la Calmette as a gift for his wife, Elisabeth “Lisa” Iselin, it is considered one of Scandinavia’s finest examples of Romantic English garden design. The estate combines natural scenery with carefully designed lakes, winding paths, picturesque buildings, and decorative pavilions.
Its charming thatched-roof manor house and idyllic landscape were inspired by the Romantic ideals of harmony between nature, art, and emotion. Today, Liselund is a popular cultural and historical attraction managed by the National Museum of Denmark. Visitors come to explore its beautifully preserved gardens, historic buildings, and peaceful setting, which offers a unique glimpse into late 18th-century landscape design and aristocratic life.
