Rosenholm Castle is Denmark's oldest family-owned castle, located near Hornslet northeast of Aarhus on Djursland.
Founded in 1559 by nobleman Jørgen Rosenkrantz on a former church estate acquired from King Frederick II, it features four Renaissance wings completed by 1607 with Italian influences, later Baroque interiors from the 1740s and a 5-hectare garden of lime avenues and beech hedges.
Still held by the Rosenkrantz family, it preserves hundreds of historic furnishings, paintings, and tapestries, offering guided tours of its authentic rooms and gardens.
