Bricquebec Castle is a medieval fortress in Normandy whose origins date back to the 10th or 11th century.

It served as one of the principal strongholds of the Dukes of Normandy and occupied a strategic position in the Cotentin Peninsula, helping to control important routes through the region. The castle was rebuilt and expanded over the centuries, particularly during the 14th century, and played an important role during the Hundred Years’ War.

It changed hands several times between French and English forces before returning to French control in the 15th century. Today, visitors can admire its impressive medieval remains, including its distinctive large keep, fortified walls, and towers. Part of the complex has been renovated and adapted for modern use, while the historic sections remain protected as a French historical monument, making it one of the most notable castles in the Cotentin region.
