Brosse Castle Ruins, also known as Château de Brosse, are the remains of a medieval fortress near Chaillac in central France.

The castle dates back to at least the 10th century and was an important stronghold of the powerful Lords of Brosse, later passing to the Chauvigny and Bourbon-Montpensier families. Built on a rocky promontory, the fortress played a significant role during the Middle Ages. During the Hundred Years’ War, it was captured and burned by English forces around 1369, and over time it was gradually abandoned by its noble owners.

Today, visitors can see the remains of the circular keep, sections of the curtain walls, towers, and other defensive structures that once protected the site. The ruins, set within a historic hamlet, are protected as a French historic monument and offer a glimpse into the region’s medieval past.
