Canet‑en‑Roussillon is a seaside town in southern France, in the Pyrénées‑Orientales department of the Occitania region, just about 12 kilometres east of Perpignan on the Mediterranean coast.

It is known above all as a lively, family‑friendly beach resort with around 9 kilometres of fine‑sand shoreline, plenty of sunshine, and a marina that attracts both holidaymakers and sailing enthusiasts. The town blends modern holiday infrastructure with a smaller, older inland village area and a nearby brackish lagoon (Étang de Canet‑Saint‑Nazaire), which offers nature walks, birdwatching, and quieter green spaces alongside the busier coastal strip.

Canet‑en‑Roussillon also has Catalan cultural influences, a long history as a bathing and fishing site, and a range of activities from swimming and water sports to restaurants and entertainment, making it a popular year‑round destination in the south of France.
