The Castillo de Crussol, located in Saint-Péray, France, is a medieval limestone fortress dating back to the 12th century that overlooks the Rhône Valley.

Built on a rocky outcrop more than 200 meters above the surrounding plain, it historically controlled an important transportation route along the Rhône River. The castle, originally constructed by Gerald Basset de Crussol, flourished in the 12th to 14th centuries and included a small fortified town.

It endured multiple attacks and fires during the Wars of Religion in the 16th century, leading to its eventual abandonment and ruin. A mine explosion and lightning further damaged the structure in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Today, the ruins remain a protected historic monument, offering visitors panoramic views, rich medieval history, and a glimpse into the region's strategic past while blending well with the natural landscape. Restoration and preservation efforts continue to maintain its cultural and historical value.​
