The Castle of the Rohan Dukes in Pontivy, France, was built in the late 15th century by Jean II de Rohan, a powerful lord from the prominent Rohan family, on a strategic rocky hill overlooking the Blavet River.

The castle replaced earlier fortifications and became the center of the Rohan family's viscounty, which was an influential and semi-autonomous territory in Brittany. It features a blend of military defensive architecture and residential elements including four towers, walls with machicolations, and later additions like enlarged windows reflecting the shift from fortress to noble residence.

The castle remained the family residence until the late 18th century and was then used for various civic purposes. Today, although reduced to two towers and partial galleries, it still symbolizes the political and military power of the Rohans, who played key roles in Breton and French history, and is open to the public for exploration and cultural events.​
