The Castle of Simiane-la-Rotonde is a remarkable medieval fortress overlooking the hilltop village of Simiane-la-Rotonde in Provence.

Its most distinctive feature is the Rotunda, a rare 12th-century circular keep built by the powerful Lords of Simiane, which is considered one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the region. The site originated as a fortified settlement that was already documented in 1031 and later evolved into a noble residence combining defensive, administrative, and residential functions.

Over the centuries, the castle underwent various modifications, periods of abandonment, and restoration efforts. Today, the castle is one of the village’s most important landmarks.
