Château d’Apremont is a partially ruined castle overlooking the Vie Valley in the Vendée region of western France.

Built on the site of an earlier medieval fortress, it was transformed between 1534 and 1542 by Philippe Chabot de Brion, a close friend of King Francis I, making it one of the earliest Renaissance castles in the Vendée. The castle combines medieval defensive features, such as thick walls, towers, and fortifications, with Renaissance architectural details including symmetrical façades and classical decorations.

One of its most remarkable features is a unique horse-riding ramp carved into the rock beneath the castle, which was designed to create a dramatic entrance for visitors. Today, the château is a protected historic monument owned by the local community. Its surviving towers, ramparts, chapel, and exhibition spaces allow visitors to discover the site's rich history while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
