Château de Beynes is a medieval fortress in the town of Beynes, west of Paris, whose origins date back to the late 11th century.

Built to protect the western frontier of the French royal domain, it occupied a strategic position in the Mauldre Valley and played an important defensive role during conflicts between the French and Anglo-Norman powers. Over the centuries, the castle was enlarged and adapted to changing military needs. During the 15th and 16th centuries, it evolved from a fortress into a more comfortable residence, and it was later associated with notable historical figures, including Diane de Poitiers.

Abandoned in the 18th century, the château gradually fell into ruin and was used as a source of building stone for the surrounding village. Today, its impressive remains, including towers, moats, and defensive walls, are protected as a historic monument and are being preserved as one of the most significant medieval castle sites in the Yvelines region.
