Château de Boulbon is a medieval fortress perched on a rocky hill above the village of Boulbon in Provence, southern France.

First mentioned in historical records in 1003, it occupied a strategic position overlooking the Rhône Valley and served for centuries as an important defensive stronghold on the border between the County of Provence and the Kingdom of France. The castle expanded over the Middle Ages, with much of the visible structure dating from the 13th to 15th centuries.

It was associated with notable figures such as Raymond de Turenne and King René of Anjou, and later evolved from a purely military fortress into a more prestigious residence. Although it eventually fell into ruin after being abandoned, the castle remains an impressive landmark with towers, ramparts, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Today, it is protected as a historic monument and continues to undergo restoration, preserving one of Provence’s most striking medieval sites.
