Château de Bourmont is a historic estate in Vallons-de-l’Erdre, near the border of Anjou and Brittany.

Its origins date back to the 14th and 15th centuries, when it served as a fortified stronghold, and it later became the seat of the Ghaisne de Bourmont family, who have owned the property for generations and continue to be associated with it today. Over the centuries, the château evolved from a medieval defensive site into an elegant residence.

While parts of the original fortress remain, the estate also features 18th-century buildings and a neo-Gothic main residence built in the late 19th century after earlier sections were damaged during the French Revolution. The château is closely linked to French history through Marshal Louis-Auguste-Victor de Ghaisne de Bourmont, who was born there and later became a Marshal of France. Today, the estate is recognized as a protected historic monument and is known for its architectural heritage, landscaped grounds, and ongoing restoration efforts.
