The Château-Musée de Dieppe is a historic castle overlooking the town of Dieppe and the English Channel.

Originally founded in the late 12th century and largely rebuilt during the 15th century, it was designed to protect the port and coastline, making it an important defensive stronghold in Normandy. Today, the castle houses the Musée de Dieppe, which showcases the town’s maritime history, fine art, and one of Europe’s most important collections of carved ivory.

The museum also features ship models, historical artifacts, and items linked to the composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Perched on a cliff above the sea, the château offers beautiful panoramic views of Dieppe, its harbor, and the coast. Its combination of medieval architecture, cultural collections, and scenic location makes it one of the city’s most notable landmarks.
