Coasina (also known as Château de Coasina or Castello di Coasina) is a ruined castle located near Ventiseri on the eastern coast of Corsica.

Its origins likely date back to the Carolingian period of the 9th and 10th centuries, making it one of the island’s oldest medieval fortified sites. The castle was once the center of a local lordship and played a role in Corsica’s medieval history. Over the centuries, it served as both a defensive stronghold and an administrative and religious center for the surrounding region.

Archaeological remains show evidence of several periods of occupation, including medieval houses and a nearby chapel. Today, the ruins stand on a hillside overlooking the coastal plain and offer impressive views of the surrounding landscape. Although only fragments of the castle survive, the site remains an important reminder of Corsica’s early medieval past and has been stabilized to help preserve its historic remains.
