Hardelot Castle, located in Condette, France, traces its history back to the 12th century when the Counts of Boulogne built the original fortress. The present structure was established in 1222 by Philippe Hurepel, Count of Boulogne, and over the centuries, the site was contested by French, English, and Burgundian forces.

In the 19th century, English owners transformed the castle, notably Sir John Hare in 1848 and Captain Henry Guy in 1865, who rebuilt it in a neo-Tudor style. The castle became a social hub for British gentry and later developed into a seaside resort under John Whitley.

Today, Hardelot Castle houses the Franco-British Cultural Centre, displays a collection of items reflecting centuries of Franco-British relations, and features restored gardens and a unique Elizabethan theatre, making it a prominent cultural and historical landmark open to visitors.
