The Jardin Botanique de l’Évêché in Limoges, also known as the Jardin botanique de Limoges, is a large municipal green space of about five hectares in the historic La Cité district, set on terraces directly behind the Saint‑Étienne Cathedral and the former bishop’s palace turned museum.

Originally developed in the 18th century as a pleasure garden for the bishop, the site was transformed into a modern botanical garden between 1956 and 1961, with a major renovation in 1976, and today mixes a classic French‑style parterre layout with themed botanical collections.

The garden is open daily without charge and features over 1,200 plant species arranged into systematic groupings such as medicinal plants, food and condiment plants, industrial and dye plants, fodder plants, and aromatic plants, as well as ecological sections that recreate seven typical Limousin habitats like oak and beech woods, moors, and heathlands, offering both a peaceful walk and an educational stroll through regional and useful vegetation.
